Energy Law

Energy law covers a wide range of areas of both public and private law. Each energy source and each component of the energy chain – production, supply and transport – has its own specific legal aspects and regulations.

In recent years, energy law has assumed large proportions in the Netherlands, especially because of the liberalisation of the electricity market. Businesses and consumers can now decide for themselves which energy supplier they purchase energy from and on what conditions. A current issue in this regard is price regulation.

Several lawyers of our firm specialize in energy law and are engaged by for instance network operators, suppliers, gas and electricity producers, metering companies, housing corporations and consultancies.
